I will be showing you how to make a 3D wooded round using your Cricut Maker. I know you have been looking at all the beautiful wooden rounds on Pinterest, and here’s your chance to learn how to make on. Wooden rounds are beautiful and super fun to make. Plus a huge moneymaker for those looking to make “Crafty Cash.”

The Vision 🤩🤩🤩

So this was the vision on my 3D wooden round. Something cute and fun for my favorite little person.

Materials Needed

Today, I’m using my Cricut Maker. You would also need to have your knife blade to do this project because we will be cutting chipboard and balsa wood.

Getting Started

Cutting wood is no different than how you would cut vinyl. You can use any SVG to make this project.

😎PRO TIP 😎 Always tape your wood down to your “Strong Mat”. See below for an example.

It’s important to note if you are making the 3d wooden sign. The cut time is unbearably slow. I’m talking 4 hours per cut and you have to cut at least 3 rounds to make it happen.

😎PRO TIP😎 Please only cut larger and thicker font. I had to learn the hard way. Little letters are impossible to cut on chipboard.

I would stick to vinyl on my wooden rounds. If are you new to the Vinyl/ HTV world or just looking for the cheapest place to buy online? Vinyl is expensive! Especially, when you’re a crafter on a budget. Click here to get the Free List of Vinyl Dealers. I also have a list of Black-owned vinyl and craft dealers. Click here

I also have a Cricut Silhouette Inventory Checklist. Are you always buying the same vinyl over and over again? Are you spending money on unnecessary crafts and You don’t know if you have the supplies to complete your Cricut/Silhouette project. Whether you are crafting for profit or for fun. You will need this Inventory checklist!!!! Get it below 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

I’m going to be super honest, the wood cutting opinion on the Cricut Maker SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! I would recommend using a CNC machine or laser for the 3D wood cutting/ engraving part. Personally, I’m in love with the Glowforge. I’ve been lusting after the Glowforge Pro since it came out. I want to get it, let me know in the comments if you think I should and I will post a lot of content on it.
