Materials Needed

- Your choice of stabilizer
- Colorful polyester thread
- Sulky Tender Touch
- Option * Prewinded Bobbin* (It makes my life so much simpler
In my honest opinion, my choice for beginners and beyond is the PE800 if you want to see a review on the brother PE embroidery machine, Click here.) It’s truly a great machine and I highly recommend it.
How to hoop jacket using the PE 800
The PE800 hoop limit is a 5×7. I found it to be easier to “Float Hoop” my projects because it gives me better control while embroidering. Float Hoop basically means you take a piece of stabilizer in your hoop, spray it with Spray N Bond Quilt Basting Adhesive and press your garment on the hoop. If you need a visional of how to hoop your design. Click here to watch.
After my jacket in on my hoop, I place water-stabilizer on top of my jacket. I use water-stabilizer on top because it gives me a better-looking stitch. This method is a matter of preference and completely optional. It just works better in my option, especially with small lettered designs.
How to remove Water Stablizer from a project
I rip mines off, but you also have the option of cutting around your design. Wnen ripping off your stablizer you don’t have much to worry about because the stitches are well attached. After you got as much off as possible (ripping and cutting), next you will need a damp wash cloth. Very gentelty pat your design until you don’t see anymore stablizer on your project. If you didn’t get all of it, it’s Ok. Wash it in the washing machine and it will be perfect.
How to remove Cut away stabilizer from the back your project
The directions are in the name of the stabilizer. You would have to cut around your design using special curved embroidery scissors. Make sure you cut all the string on the back of your design. You want to cut them away because if you wash it, it may not lay flat anymore and would look all bunched up.

Using Tender Touch
Tender touch is the final touch to the project. Tender touch is so you don’t have to feel the rough feel of embroidery against your skin. The tender touch acts as a barrier and makes your project looks upscale and finished.
