Dollar Tree Crafts: Face Mask Holder

There are so many crafts you can make from Dollar Tree but in this series, I will be showing you how to make a useful Facemask holder. I thought of this knowing that my kiddo will be returning back to the “in-person” classroom. I wanted to make sure we were fully prepared lol. I’ve been losing mask and honestly, it was super difficult for me to keep up with them. I’m not sure about you but whenever I wash my baby’s mask it always seems to get lost in the sauce or ball up with the socks lol.

Materials

  • Picture Frame
  • Vinyl
  • Acrylic paint
  • Mini clothespins
  • Cotton Gold Twine
  • Transfer Tape
  • Glue gun
  • Cricut Maker
  • Paint Brushes

Step One

This craft is fast and easy. The first step is opening your picture frame and opening the backing of the frame. We will paint the inside of the glass. I use a paintbrush and brush my paint in a “back and forth” motion. There isn’t a real art to it, just paint it how you like it. 💕

Step Two

The Second Step is gluing your mini clothespin on the front of your picture frame. After the paint dries on the back of the frames’ glass but the frame backing on. Next sit your frame down on a flat surface and began gluing your clothespins on. I personality used, covering the whole front. I was thinking more about functionality than estedily appeasing.

Step Three

The Third step is designing your sign. The first thing you would have to do is open Design Space. Next, Click on “New” found on the top left-hand corner of Design Space. Using the font “Dashing Unicorn”. If you are new to using free fonts I have a post showing you how to use them and get free fonts. Click Here to learn how.

Next, using I size my design at (Width of 5.8 and Height of .9)

Next, click on “Make it”. The green button, top right hand corner. When cutting your design, remember NOT TO MIRROR. When you are cutting vinyl projects you cut it without mirroring because you will be using a transfer sheet to apply your design. Mirroring your design is only for heat projects like using HTV (heat transfer vinyl) on a shirt.

If are you new to the Vinyl/ HTV world or just looking for the cheapest place to buy online? Vinyl is expensive! Especially, when you’re a crafter on a budget. Click here to get the Free List of Vinyl Dealers.

I also have a list of Black owned vinyl and craft dealers. Click here

I also have a Cricut Silhouette Inventory Checklist. Are you always buying the same vinyl over and over again? Step Four

After you cut your design, weed your vinyl leaving your design.

Next your transfer paper and transfer your design on the sheet.

Pro Tip: Sometimes if vinyl is difficult to come off, try peeling off in a rolling motion. Watch the video below.
