Materials Needed
The materials needed to complete this beautiful fall decor
I got my white pumpkin from Micheals. ( P.S if you’re worried about spending too much money at your craft stores. You have to read this.) I choose white pumpkins because they look so luxe.
Vinyl of choice: I’m using Cricut’s brand Premium Vinyl Textured Metallic. the Gold color and I’m using a standard black Cricut brand vinyl.
Cricut cutting machine. I’m using my Cricut maker. Boy, do I love my machine. I have my review here if you need a bit more convincing.
Transfer Tape: I purchase my transfer tape from Amazon and it was a great deal.
Step one:
Measure your pumpkin. I measure from top to bottom and I got ten inches. I used the measurement of 5 by 5. for the total design. So it will balance out for the middle of the design.
Step Two:
In Design Space type out your first Letter. This will be for your last name. In this case, I will be using W for Waiters. For W I will be using the standard font named “Cricut Sans”. Look at the video, I will show you where to find it. I’m using this cute font I found on Dafont.com called Yessy. (Click on Yessy to download this font, If you don’t know how to download and use outside fonts Click Here) I’ll be using Yessy to spell Yara’s name. One the second pumpkin I used W in “Cricut Sans and Spelling Waiters using the font “Belinda Script“.
Look!!!!!! A video for my visual Folks
Step Three:
In Design Space resize both “W” and “Waiters” to the measurement of 5×5 as we measured in step one. (If you need help resizing your designs, no matter how many layers. Click Here) The color of the design doesn’t really matter but for teaching purposes, I will show the different colors. I normally try to cut my projects on one mat (it saves vinyl which means it saves money.) I make my design and cut using design space.
Step Four:
I weed and use transfer tape. Use your scrapping tool of both sides of vinyl to get your design. Doing this method would make your design stick on the transfer paper better.
Pro-Tip: Center design and work your way from the middle of the design to the end.
Pro-Tip: A hairdryer will get all the bubbles out and make your design go on smoother. For all my visional folks. Here’s the video of how I did it.
