I’ve been obsessed with lasers for a while and when I saw the Glowforge It was love at first sight. This is the perfect machine for beginners and seasoned laser crafters. Are you just getting started on your Glowforge journey and not sure what to do? I have 10 hacks that every Glowforge newbie should know and some tips that the seasoned crafter would love. 10 Glowforge hacks. popular hacks that will save Glowforge users time, money, and headache.

Hack One
Take a picture of the proof-grade sticker and use it over again for the perfect cut. Using my Cricut, I would upload this image into Design space and make 3 inches by 3-inch print and cuts using sticker paper. If you want the full tutorial click here.
In my option, Glowforge and Cricut is the perfect team. I can’t wait till you learn about Sublimation, Cricut, and Glowforge projects.
Hack Two
Use masking tape to cover the door and top to avoid dust. If you are anything like me (lazy) you would understand why this hack is amazing. Glowforge recommends you clean your Glowforge every four hours of use.

If you are cutting/ Engraving multiple of the same file. You can copy and paste designs by using Clt+C to copy your desired design and Clt-V to paste them.
Hack Four
-If the smell of burning wood lager is too long and you are tired you can’t open your window. I suggest using an air purifier. (link to amazon).
Hack Five
-The magic eraser from Mr clean will be your best friend when dealing with stubborn charred marks the masking paper couldn’t stop.
Toothbrushes and water picks are a great way to clean silicone watch bands
Hack Six
Your software could be free to use. YOu don’t need the $50 plan from Glowforge offers . You can use free software like inkscape. Or programs you are already familiar with like Cricut, powerpoint, adobe, silhouette and many more

Hack Seven
Seal your wood with cutting board oil after engraving,cutting, or scoring your wood. Cutting board oil is not only safe but it makes your products look professional.
Hack Eight
Do not mask your cutting boards. The settings are 1000/100/340. If you need a cutting board to practice on I would recommend bamboo
Hack Nine
You can make your own “proof grade” materials with research. For certain woods, you can use masking tape. If you are cutting metals then use BLl101
Hack Ten
Keep your straps and make smaller projects!! You can make the tiny pins to hold down your wood or little cute keychains.
